Parmesan Peppercorn Ranch Dressing Recipe

Homemade Parmesan peppercorn dressing made with freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano® cheese is always a winner. Making your own Parmesan peppercorn dressing allows you to add just the amount of pepper you like. In fact, you can vary this Parmesan peppercorn dressing recipe so much, you can even omit the pepper entirely and add chopped fresh herbs instead, turning it into Parmesan ranch dressing. Our recommendation? Combine fresh parsley, chives and dill to make a delicious, fresh-tasting Parmesan ranch dressing. You could even add herbs and peppercorns for Parmesan peppercorn ranch dressing.

For another variation of this Parmesan peppercorn dressing recipe, try adding a teaspoon of Worcestershire Sauce instead of the dry mustard. However you make it, serve Parmesan peppercorn dressing on salads, or as a dip with raw vegetables. This Parmesan peppercorn dressing recipe can be made ahead and will keep for four or five days in your refrigerator.

Ingredients (Yields 1 1/2 cups) Convert to Metric

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard powder
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, coarsely ground
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmigiano Reggiano
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh herbs

Directions (This is Easy!)

Prep Time - 10 min

Combine the buttermilk, mayonnaise and lemon juice and whisk together until smooth. Add all other ingredients. Refrigerate for at least an hour to develop the flavors.
